A few strategies The Container Store utilized in order to motivate their employees are providing 263 hours of training during the first year and giving 50% more pay compared to other retail competitors. This establishment provided good working conditions and a comfortable working community. These strategies will obviously cost the company more money but over time the motivation will accumulate and the company will function more efficiently. 2. Yes, I do believe Tindell's statement regarding that highly satisfied employees will lead to highly satisfied customers and shareholders. Like the saying “what goes around comes around” if the employees expose a positive attitude, the customer is more likely to be satisfied with their purchase. 3. Share your examples and your own ideas for strategies for motivating employees. A few strategies I would exercise in order to motivate my employees would include higher paychecks compared to other large competitors. If an individual actually has a goal to work towards to, they will likely work harder to achieve it. Also I would create a positive, fun workplace. The more an employee enjoys doing what they do, the more they will motivated. I would also creative incentives for the hardest working employees such as more vacation days.
3. The strategies I would use to motivate my employees would be to inspire and help them figure out what they are most passionate about and relate things to what interests them the most. As well as making the pay a bit higher than the competition so it prevents slacking off and motivates them work to their full potential.
