Motivation is an important key in any organization or workplace, and it is imperative that any manager know the basic theory methods that are involved. This is a mandatory skill for all managers, because it will teach them how to motivate their employees in any workplace. Every employee is different and will need a different motivation technique, so knowing the right motivation is the main key. “Motivation occurs individuals in three different behavior ways they are: individuals, satisfying a personnel need, competitive, trying to be better than another, or simple cooperative. Maslow went to identify five human needs that motivate people they are physiological, security, social needs, and self-actualization. According to this theory unsatisfied needs are the prime motivators of behaviors, and the needs are from the lowest subsistence level needs to the highest level of self-actualization. The movement from one level to the next was satisfaction progression. Through time it was known that an individual would be motivated to travel up the levels, most believed that this approach was unrealistic. Herzberg later modified Maslow’s need theory and channeled it down to only two areas known as hygiene and motivators. This was an easier approach that suggested that individuals have desires that are beyond hygiene and motivators.
