Failure Analysis and Reliability Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering (http://www.me.nus.edu.sg) and the Centre for Offshore Research and Engineering (http://www.eng.nus.edu.sg/core) at the National University of Singapore (http://www.nus.edu.sg) invite outstanding applicants in Failure Analysis and Reliability Engineering, preferably with interest in developing research and teaching portfolios in subsea and aeronautical engineering. The faculty position may be at Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor level.

We seek candidates who have the prerequisite fundamental knowledge and experience in the areas of Failure Analysis and Reliability, for example: Knowledge and principles of safety management, hazards evaluation and risk assessment; reliability issues such as assessing failure causes, failure probability, and potential failure consequences; human factors in safety and reliability management.

Successful candidate is required to develop and effectively teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise students at Master's and PhD levels and also develop active and significant research programmes in the areas of Probability Failure, Risk and Reliability Analysis, with emphasis on subsea and aeronautical applications. For tenure-track Professor/Associate Professor, the applicant should be internationally recognized as experts in their area of research.

Starting rank and salary depend on experience and qualification and will be competitive.
